East Midlands property law firm Landsmiths has raised £5,935 for Sands United FC Nottingham after completing a 13-mile overnight charity walk in support of its Charity of the Year.
The Landsmiths’ team crossed the finish line on Saturday morning following a challenging walk through the night, undertaken to raise funds and awareness for Sands United FC Nottingham.
Sands United FC provides a safe and supportive environment for bereaved fathers and other family members affected by baby loss, bringing people together through a shared love of football and providing an opportunity to connect with others who have experienced similar loss.
According to Sands, around 13 babies die shortly before, during or soon after birth every day in the UK. Research has also found that babies are statistically more likely to die during the night, making the overnight nature of the 13-mile challenge particularly poignant.
By walking through the night, the Landsmiths team raised vital funds and awareness for Sands United FC Nottingham, which provides a dedicated support network for bereaved fathers and other family members affected by baby loss.
The 13-mile overnight walk was a real team effort, with colleagues supporting one another throughout the challenge and keeping the reason behind the fundraising firmly in mind.
Together, the Landsmiths team raised £5,935, thanks to donations and support from colleagues, clients, professional contacts, friends and family.
