Our community commitment.

Supporting our local community is part of who we are. As a Nottingham-based firm, we believe in using our platform and network to make a positive difference close to home. We’ve built our business here, and we’re proud to invest in the people and organisations that shape our city for the better. Each year, we choose a local charity to support. Through fundraising events, sponsorships, and other initiatives, we work to amplify the voices and causes that matter most in our community. It’s a team effort and we’re always inspired by the passion and generosity of those around us.

Our current charity partner: Core Centre

This year, we’re delighted to once again be partnering with the Core Centre as our charity of the year. The Core Centre were the very first charity we supported, and it was clear from the beginning just how much our fundraising and practical support helped them. With many new projects underway and demand for their services continuing to rise, their running costs are also increasing. We felt that 12 months of support simply wasn’t long enough, so we’ve made the decision to support them again.

Additional funding from external supporters is absolutely crucial in helping the Core Centre continue their work and we’re proud to play our part.

Upcoming fundraiser: 80’s Fest 2024

Our annual fundraising event will take place this November and this year we’re taking it back to the 80’s! Guests can look forward to a night of retro fun, with themed food, music, and entertainment. As always, there’ll be a charity raffle with fantastic prizes generously donated by clients and local businesses. The evening will also provide the Core Centre with the opportunity to share more about their vital work and explain just how important external support is to their future.

Where we’ve made a difference

Nottingham Children, Young People and Their Families (CYF)

In 2024, we were proud to support Nottingham Children, Young People and Their Families Project (CYF) as our chosen charity of the year.

CYF is a grassroots charity that has been working since 2007 to support under-resourced communities across the city. They empower young people and their families through education, mentoring, creative projects and crisis support, helping to open doors and build brighter futures.

Fundraising highlight: Oktoberfest 2024

In October, we hosted our annual Oktoberfest fundraising event in Nottingham. With the support of clients, sponsors and the wider business community, we raised over £5,000 for CYF. Guests enjoyed Bavarian food and drink, live music and a lively charity raffle, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses.

Practical support in action

Alongside fundraising, we also provided practical items that made a real difference to CYF and the families they support. This included:

  • A tablet to help the team apply for grants and work more flexibly.
  • A bookcase to display books for children using the centre.
  • Cleaning equipment to distribute to families and support deep-clean projects.
  • Selection boxes collected by our staff and office neighbours, delivered in time for Christmas.

Lasting impact

We’re proud to have played a part in supporting CYF’s vital work. With every pound raised and every item donated, we’ve helped them continue to provide opportunities, encouragement and practical support for children and families across Nottingham.

Supporting The Core Centre in 2023/24
At Landsmiths, we’re committed to giving back to the community that supports us. For 2023/24, we proudly partnered with The Core Centre as our Charity of the Year – a small but impactful organisation based in Calverton, Nottingham.

A partnership with purpose

The Core Centre provides vital support to the local community through over 30 health, well-being, advice and engagement services. With just three staff and a dedicated volunteer team, they work tirelessly to meet rising needs in the face of post-Covid recovery and the ongoing costof living crisis.

Our goal was simple: raise both awareness and funds to help The Core Centre continue their essential work. Throughout the year, we hosted a number of fundraising initiatives, including our flagship Oktoberfest event, which brought in £4,000. We also engaged with local businesses to secure sponsorships and raffle prizes, ensuring maximum impact.

Creating impact

Our partnership helped fill critical funding gaps and gave The Core Centre access to new networks and support. Beyond just financial donations, we facilitated valuable business connections, supporting the charity’s reach and long-term sustainability.

Supporting The Core Centre as our Charity of the Year was a commitment to the community. At Landsmiths, we’re proud to use our platform to champion local causes and help create meaningful change.

Looking ahead.

We’ve got big plans for the future and our community work will always be a part of who we are. Through our annual charity partnerships and hands-on support, we’ll keep finding ways to give back to the city we call home.

If you’d like to get involved in our fundraising, or partner with us on future events, get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
